칠판 가득히 분필로 적어가며 우리가 어려워하는 중세국어와 현대국어 문법에 대해 설명하시는 선생님을 보고 저는 칠판을 두 개로 나누어 한쪽은 현대국어, 다른 한쪽은 중세 국어에 대한 개념을 빼곡히 적어 우리나라 한글의 역사의 만남을 보여주는 칠판을 찍어야겠다고 생각했습니다. 현대국어 부분에는 셔츠를 입은 내가, 중세국어 부분에는 한복을 입은 친구와 함께 사진을 찍었습니다. 언어와 매체를 공부하며 항상 사용하는 우리나라 국어가 이렇게 어렵고 복잡한 내용이 있다는 몰랐던 부분에 신기하기도 하였고, 한글에 대한 자긍심과 한글에 대해 좀 더 많이 알게 된 것 같아서 뿌듯합니다.
Seeing our teacher explaining the difficult grammar of Middle Korean and Modern Korean by filling the blackboard with chalk, I decided to split the blackboard in two, writing down the concepts of Modern Korean on one side and Middle Korean on the other, to capture the meeting of different eras of our Hangeul history. In the Modern Korean section, I took a picture wearing a shirt, and in the Middle Korean section, I took a picture with a friend wearing hanbok. Studying language and media, I was amazed to learn about the complexity and depth of our national language, which I use daily. This experience has not only deepened my pride in Hangeul but also broadened my knowledge of it.
