100년 역사를 가진 해외 한인 신문 '고려일보' 통해서 한글을 배웠어요 (금상)

러시아 연해주에서 1923년에 창간된 고려일보는 세계 한인 사회 신문 중 가장 오래된 신문이며, 100년 동안 고려인들의 정체성과 모국어를 지켜준 보물입니다. 1937년 고려인들은 강제이주 정책으로 카자흐스탄으로 이주하게 되었는데, 그런 상황에서 우리말을 보전하기 위해 고려인들이 강제이주 당시 고려일보를 함께 가져왔습니다. 지원자인 나는 고려인 3세이며 대학교 입학하기 전까지 한글을 전혀 모르고 살다가 집에서 우연히 한글 신문인 고려일보를 발견하여 할머니에게 부탁해서 신문을 보며 한글을 배우게 되었습니다. 그 후 나는 한국어 통역사가 되었습니다. 90세가 되신 할머니는 아직도 고려일보를 읽고 한글을 잊어버리지 않으시려고 노력하고 계십니다.
'I learned Korean through 'Koryo Ilbo,' an overseas Korean newspaper with a 100-year history.'
Founded in 1923 in Primorsky, Russia, the Koryo Ilbo is the oldest Korean community newspaper in the world. In addition, it is a treasure that protected the identity and mother tongue of the Goryeo people for 100 years. Due to the forced migration policy in 1937, the Goryeo people moved to Kazakhstan, and the Goryeo people also moved the Goryeo Ilbo at the time of forced migration to preserve the Korean language. As an applicant for the contest, I lived without knowing Hangul until I entered college as a third generation Goryeoin, but I happened to encounter the Korean newspaper, the Koryo Ilbo, at home. Then, I asked my grandmother to read the newspaper and learned Hangul. After that, I became a Korean interpreter. The 90-year-old grandmother is trying not to forget Hangul even after reading the Koryo Ilbo.
