고구마 파는 아저씨

한국 여행 중, 저는 서울의 구도심을 걷다 고구마 가게 앞에서 멈췄습니다. 주인 겸 고구마 굽는 분이 유명한 꿀 소스를 곁들인 고구마를 맛보라고 저를 불렀기 때문입니다. 고구마 가게와 고구마, 그리고 그분의 사진을 찍었습니다. 그분이 영어로 고구마 이야기를 열심히 전해주고, 한국어로 몇 마디를 가르쳐주려고 노력했기 때문입니다. 결국 우리는 서로에 대해 알게 되었습니다. 이 사진은 제가 고구마 아저씨를 다시 만날 때까지 저의 맘에 있을 겁니다.
'The sweet potato man'
In my trip to Korea, I was walking inside the old village in Seoul when I stopped at this sweet potato store because the owner and also the potato cooker was calling me to try his really famous potato with a honey sauce. I took a picture of him, his store and the potatoes because he try so hard trying to told us his potato story in English and also teaching us how to say some words in Korean. The thing is... we learned, he learned as well and this photo will be part of me until I can meet him and his potatoes again.
