The "2025 Hangeul Encounter Photo and Video Contest" collects and uses your personal information for the purpose of verifying participants.
The specific purposes of collection and use according to the method of collection are as follows:
To verify the identity of contest entrants and to collect information necessary for judging and awarding prizes
[Items of Personal Information Processed]
The "2025 Hangeul Encounter Photo and Video Contest" collects only the minimum necessary personal
information required to provide services to participants as follows:
Name, gender, date of birth, address, mobile phone number, home phone number, email address, affiliation, and submitted works.
[Retention and Use Period of Personal Information]
The personal information of participants in the "2025 Hangeul Photo and Video Contest" will be destroyed immediately after the purpose of collection and use has been achieved.
However, for awardees, information will be retained for the duration of the copyright term for the purpose of copyright management.
Retention Period: 1 year from the end of the contest event (until November 30, 2025)
[Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing]
For the execution of services, the "2025 Hangeul Photo and Video Contest" entrusts the handling of personal information to an external professional agency as follows:
Subcontracted Company and Task: DB system construction for participants, website development and maintenance
Subcontractor: Tan Communications Co., Ltd. / Subcontract Period: From the start of application reception until the end of the project
The National Hangeul Museum ensures that, when outsourcing the processing of personal information, it stipulates in the contract compliance with relevant personal information protection laws, prohibition of third-party provision, liability for accidents, retention period, return or destruction of personal information upon completion of the contract, and keeps such contract in writing or electronically.
In the event of changes in the contents of the outsourced work, such changes will be notified through at least one of the following methods: website announcement, written notice, email, telephone, SMS, or similar methods.
[Right to Refuse Consent and Disadvantages Due to Refusal]
Participants have the right to refuse consent regarding the collection, use, provision, and outsourcing of their personal information.
However, if consent is refused, participation in the contest will not be possible.
Consent Regarding Copyright Use
All submitted works must be original creations by the applicant and free from any copyright disputes.
The applicant shall bear full legal responsibility for any issues related to copyright, portrait rights, or other rights associated with the submitted work.
All content, images, and other materials used in the submitted work must either have expired copyrights or have had any rights issues resolved by the applicant. In the event of any disputes, the applicant shall bear full responsibility.
Entries that have previously won awards in other contests, plagiarized works, edited or synthesized works, works created by proxy, or works that do not meet the specified submission requirements will be disqualified from the judging process. Even after awards are announced, prizes may be revoked, and prize money may be reclaimed if such issues are discovered.
The copyright of the work shall remain with the creator; however, for works where consent for copyright use has been obtained, ownership shall be jointly held by the National Hangeul Museum and the creator.
Award recipients, upon receiving prize money (and certificates), agree that the National Hangeul Museum may utilize their works for internal and external media announcements, promotions, exhibitions, educational purposes, and may edit and adapt the works (including the creation of derivative works) to suit various media formats. Furthermore, award recipients agree not to exercise their moral rights unless the use is deemed to defame their reputation under societal standards.
When utilizing winning works, the National Hangeul Museum shall indicate the awardee's name in an appropriate manner.
